On March 6, 2023, in Dubai, at the initiative of the embassies of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a briefing was held on preparations for the UN Conference on the Midterm Review of the Water Decade (March 22-24, 2023, New York). The briefing was opened by the heads of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Tajikistan, Bahodur Sharifi and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Douwe Buseman.

During his speech, the Ambassador of Tajikistan noted that this important international event chaired by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon and the King of the Netherlands, His Highness, Willem-Alexander reflects the special importance of the global water agenda and is an outstanding example of effective cooperation between an upstream country and a downstream country located in different geographical areas in solving the most important problems of mankind.

The briefing was attended by a wide range of representatives of the diplomatic corps, leaders and staff of international organizations based in the United Arab Emirates, stakeholders and experts in the field of water resources.
